A man and woman are facing multiple charges following an early-morning police pursuit that ended with a crash in Saskatoon.
At approximately 4:15 a.m. Sunday, April 27, 2025, officers responded to a report of an attempted dirt bike theft in the 10 block of Sturby Place.
Witnesses saw the suspects flee the scene in a white Mercedes-Benz SUV.
Police quickly located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver sped off, ignoring a stop sign and ultimately crashing into a fire hydrant. The occupants exited the vehicle and tried to flee on foot. However, with the help of the Saskatoon Police Service Air Support Unit, both suspects were located and arrested by patrol officers a short time later.
The 35-year-old woman who drove the car is now facing charges of Dangerous Driving, Evading Police, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Breach of Court-Imposed Conditions. Her partner, a 27-year-old man is being charged with Theft Over $5000 and Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking.
