SASKATOON Transit is making it easier for fans to attend two major events at SaskTel Centre this weekend by offering direct bus service from the Special Events Stop at 23rd Street and 2nd Avenue. The service is available for both the Saskatchewan Rush lacrosse game and the highly anticipated concert by Grammy-winning artist, Nelly.
Lacrosse fans heading to watch the Saskatchewan Rush face off against the Ottawa Black Bears on Saturday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m. can catch a direct bus at either 5:45 p.m. or 6:25 p.m. The same departure times will be available for concertgoers on Sunday, April 20, when Nelly takes the stage at 7:00 p.m.
Following each event, buses will drop passengers off at the downtown terminal. Regular fares apply to these special routes, with each trip costing $3.00. Riders have the convenience of purchasing their fare through the TGo or Transit app on their smartphones. Transfers and existing transit passes are also valid for these services. Typically, buses arrive at SaskTel Centre about 30 minutes before the end of an event to ensure timely post-show departures.
To make the experience even more convenient, Saskatoon Transit recommends planning trips in advance using Route 333 on the Transit app. The app not only allows trip planning up to two weeks ahead but also includes the Transit+ feature, which helps users coordinate their ride by connecting with OnDemand Transit, riide, or Uber services.
