Saskatoon Man Charged After Allegedly Pointing Firearm Downtown

A 34-year-old Saskatoon man is facing multiple firearm-related charges following an incident in the city’s downtown area on Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 4:15 p.m. on August 5, Saskatoon Police responded to reports of a man pointing a firearm in the 100 block of 21st Street East. Upon arrival, patrol officers located a suspect matching the description provided by witnesses.

A search revealed the man was in possession of a sawed-off rifle, ammunition, and a quantity of methamphetamine.

He was taken into custody without incident and is now facing the following charges:

  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition
  • Prohibited Possession of a Firearm (x3)
  • Possession of Methamphetamine

No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
