CREWS have begun giving the city’s streets a fresh coat of paint as part of an ongoing effort to keep roadways safe and clearly marked for everyone.
The City of Saskatoon launched its annual pavement marking program earlier this month, kicking off with the repainting of crosswalks in school zones and residential neighborhoods. The work is part of a larger city-wide initiative to enhance road safety and ensure all users—from drivers and cyclists to pedestrians—can navigate the streets with confidence.
In the coming weeks, residents can expect to see city crews refreshing a range of markings across Saskatoon. These include traffic lane lines, edge and centre lines, directional arrows, and cycling symbols. The markings help guide traffic and improve safety, especially in high-use areas.

Drivers are reminded to stay alert and cautious when approaching a painting crew. “They’re not blocking your path—they’re making a safer one,” said city officials. Motorists are urged to slow down and respect work zones to protect the crews working on-site.
This annual maintenance project is a critical part of Saskatoon’s commitment to road safety, ensuring that key markings remain visible and effective throughout the year.
