A 34-year-old man is facing multiple charges after an alleged break-in and attempted robbery at a Saskatoon home on Friday afternoon.
At around 2:00 p.m., officers were called to a residence on the 3800 block of Miyowahkohtowin Road after a report that an unknown man had unlawfully entered the home and tried to steal bicycles. According to police, a resident confronted the intruder, who then grabbed a knife from the home and threatened them.
The suspect fled the scene on foot but was quickly tracked down by patrol officers in the backyard of a nearby home in the 3800 block of 33rd Street West.
Police arrested the man without further incident. He is now facing several charges, including Break and Enter and Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon.
No injuries were reported. The accused remains in custody and is expected to appear in court in the coming days.
Police continue to remind residents to report suspicious activity and ensure homes are secured.
