A coordinated investigation by the Saskatoon Police Service Crime Reduction Team culminated in a significant narcotics and weapons seizure on January 2, 2026, resulting in several charges against a 39-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man.
The arrests took place at approximately 3:00 p.m. near the intersection of Central Avenue and 103rd Street East, where officers and members of the Tactical Support Unit took both individuals into custody without incident.
Following the initial arrests, investigators executed search warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act targeting a residence in the 200 block of Egbert Avenue and two vehicles. The search yielded a substantial quantity of illicit substances, most notably half a kilogram of methamphetamine and 83 grams of fentanyl appearing in brown, pink, and yellow varieties. Officers also recovered 600 mL of gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB), 26 grams of cocaine, 32 grams of psilocybin, and a collection of prescription pills including clonazepam and opioid-based “tec 3” tablets.

In addition to the narcotics, police seized nearly $4,000 in Canadian currency and a specialized 2001 Toyota Soarer right-hand-drive coupe. The investigation also turned up an assortment of weapons, including various knives, canisters of bear spray, and imitation firearms. The breadth of the seizure highlights the multifaceted nature of the local drug trade that the Crime Reduction Team continues to target.
Both suspects are now facing multiple counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime exceeding $5,000. They have further been charged with the illegal possession, production, or transport of items intended for the production of controlled substances. The 36-year-old male suspect faces an additional charge for the breach of a prior court order. Both individuals remain in the judicial process as the investigation concludes.
