Free Saskatoon Transit Rides on April 28 to Support Voter Access

SASKATOON Transit is helping residents get to the polls by offering free transit service on federal election day, Monday, April 28, 2025.

To reduce transportation barriers and encourage voter participation, a special transit pass is available for use across all transit services that day, including fixed-route buses, OnDemand Transit, and Access Transit. The pass can be used multiple times throughout the day and is valid until the end of service on April 28.

Riders can access the free transit pass online at saskatoontransit.ca, or pick one up in person at several locations, including the Transit Customer Service Centre, City Hall, Civic Leisure Centres, and Saskatoon Public Library branches.

A printed version of the pass is not required. Passengers can simply show an electronic version on their mobile phone to the bus operator when boarding.

To make the trip to polling stations even easier, Saskatoon Transit recommends using the Transit app or Google Maps Transit to plan routes in advance. Both apps offer real-time updates and can help users find the best routes to their designated voting locations.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and take advantage of the service to ensure they can vote without delay.

For more details about the free election day transit service and to download the special pass, visit saskatoontransit.ca. For regular route information and service alerts, the Transit app remains the go-to tool for riders, offering push notifications and live tracking to keep travelers informed.
